Kiln firing service
The Service
Community Kiln Firing Service
Need a reliable place to bring your creations to life? We open up our kilns to local potters, hobbyists, and independent makers, offering professional, studio-supervised bisque and stoneware glaze firings.
Convenient Drop-Off: Easily arrange a drop-off time that suits your schedule.
Mindful Turnaround: We aim for a typical turnaround time of 7 to 10 days, depending on the kiln load, ensuring your work is handled with the patience and care it deserves.
What We Can Fire
Clay Bodies & Capabilities
Our kilns are equipped to handle most common earthenware and stoneware clay bodies. To keep our equipment and your work safe, we just need to know a few details before we bake:
Please provide the clay brand, manufacturer, and specific firing range.
Got a mystery clay or custom glaze? Unknown materials may require a quick test tile first, or may be declined to protect the kiln.

Preparing Your Work
To ensure the best possible results for your pieces, we ask that you follow a few simple studio guidelines before dropping them off:
Bone Dry: All pieces must be completely bone dry for bisque firings.
Clearly Labelled: Please ensure all work is clearly marked or stamped so we can identify your pieces.
Firing Specs: Provide the exact firing temperature, manufacturer details, or specific cone requirements for both your clay and glaze.
Pricing & Peace of Mind
The Fine Print
We keep our firing pricing straightforward and transparent so you can plan your projects with confidence.
Affordable Minimums: We operate with a £25 minimum charge per drop-off, and we will always provide a confirmed quote before your work goes into the kiln.
Studio Care: While we treat every piece with the utmost respect, all work is fired at the owner's risk.
A Gentle Reminder: To protect our communal equipment, if an experimental or overly thick glaze runs and damages a kiln shelf, a replacement cost may apply.
